Saturday - Mot-Mapua relay
This event takes place on a scenic 26km course on the Great Taste Trail, starting from the Motueka Salt Water Baths and finishing at the Māpua Community Hall. There's plenty of flexibility to make up a team that suits you and your group.
- All walkers (usually 4 people)
- Hybrid teams with at least one runner and at least one walker
(designated walkers should not run any part of their leg).
- All runners (usually 4 people - they may choose to walk part of their legs).
- Solo, 2-person, 3-person teams.
Distances:
Leg 1 - 6.0km - Leg 2 - 6.3km - Leg 3 - 5.9km - Leg 4 - 7.9km
Members, non-members & youth/school teams are all welcome. You need a team name, so get your thinking caps on before you get to Rego. Registration: 11:30am to 1:15pm at the Motueka Salt Water Baths.
- Walkers Teams: Briefing 11:50am, Start 12 noon.
- Hybrid teams with more walkers than runners can start with the walkers.
- Hybrid & Early Runners Teams: Briefing 12:50pm, Start 1.00pm.
(Early Runners teams' pace is expected to be slower than 5m30s/km i.e. 27m30s for 5km.)
- Runners Teams: Briefing 1:20pm, Start 1:30pm.
- Solo, 2-person & 3-person teams: Self-seed into the start times above as appropriate.
Suggested koha of $20 per team, payable on the day. Proceeds to go to the Nelson Tasman Cycle Trail Trust - The Great Taste Trail. Join us after you finish at the Sprig + Fern Māpua for drinks and socialising. There will be grocery voucher spot prizes worth $200 up for grabs.
