Saturday - Wallace Shield Three![]()
The third and final event of the 2025 Wallace Shield Cross-Country Series will start in the Old Domain on Moturoa / Rabbit Island ![]()
- Registration: 1:30pm – 2:15pm. Arrive early to find out your designated start time!![]()
- Race briefing is at 2.20pm. Race starts at 2.30pm.![]()
It’s the same as Race 1, but this time you’ll run or walk it in the reverse direction! Race 3 is a handicap race based on your time from Race 2. (If you did not run or walk Race 2 – don’t worry, we have a start line process for you as well.) The slowest competitors start first at 2:30pm with the next competitors going at intervals until finally the fastest competitor starts and tries their best to catch up! The winner is the first across the finish line. As with all events in the Wallace Shield Series there are three distance options:![]()
- Adult & high school runners: 3 laps (5km)![]()
- Walkers: 2 laps (3.4km)![]()
- Juniors (Intermediate/primary/pre-school) runners choose from:![]()
1 lap (1.7km) – 2 laps (3.4km) – 3 laps (5km).![]()
Parents / caregivers are welcome to accompany a small child around the one lap course – staying with their child all the way and crossing the finish line with them. Please help ensure the child stays in order in the Finishing Chute until their Race Number has been recorded. Tell the Recorder that you are an accompanying adult. 5km & 10km run or walk on a loop course around Founders & Neal park $5 for 5km and $10 for 10km (family $20.00 max) pay on the day. All proceeds going to Athletics Nelson junior athletes travel fund to the winter cross country nationals.![]()
