Mt Robert Fell Run 18 February 2024
Great conditions – clear skies, warm with light breeze.
*Nancy Jiang has set a new course record for women,
bettering the 1.42.40 time of Britta Reid (then Britta Martin) in 2016.
**Freddy and his mother Mary ran a shortened 9km course
but over the toughest section. From the Mt Robert carpark,
up the Pinchgut to Bushline Hut, then down the steep Paddy’s
track to the connecting track back to the Mt Robert carpark.
To my knowledge Freddy is the youngest competitor we have had in the event.
There were two 16 year olds in the race, Joseph Cameron and Isabelle Schwarzenbach.
Both ran good times. Isabelle beat her 2023 time by nearly 12 minutes.
The future of Fell running looks good.
At the other end of the age spectrum 77 year old Malcolm Fisher
finished just 2/3 of the way down the field.
An impressive performance on this challenging course!
