Saturday _ Wallace Shield Two
The second event is a standard, timed race. Your challenge is to finish with a shorter time than in race one. Points are awarded based on your improvement over your first race time. While everyone is welcome to join in, only participants who ran/walked in Race 1 will get points. If you did enter last week - come this week anyway and run or walk for fun.
Registration is from 1.30pm - 2:15pm in the Totara Picnic Area.
Race briefing 2.20pm.
Race start 2.30pm in 3 waves one minute apart.
As with all events in the Wallace Shield Series there are three distance options:
- Adult & high school runners: 3 laps (5km)
- Walkers: 2 laps (3.4km)
- Juniors (Intermediate/primary/pre-school) runners choose from 1 lap (1.7km) - 2 laps (3.4km) - 3 laps (5km).
Note that adults (this includes all High School Students) have only two options: Run 3 laps or walk 2 laps. Juniors have 3 options and if they run more or fewer than the number of laps they registered for, they should tell the Recorder at the Finish Line. Their category can then be changed to match what they actually ran. Check websites for maps etc. Waimea Harrier event
