Children/Teens running SessionAthletics Nelson and Nelson Tri Club will once again be offering the very popular FREE running sessions for Term 2 and 3.All abilities welcome, there will be a warm-up and warm-down in each session. Saturday - Wallace Shield ThreeThe last event in the popular Wallace Shield series, a fun three-event series of 5km cross country for adult & high school runners and 3.4km for walkers, held at Moturoa/Rabbit Island. Intermediate school and younger runners can choose 1 lap (1.7km), 2 laps (3.4km) or 3 laps (5km). Registration is from 1.30pm, race briefing 2.20pm and race start 2.30pm. This is a great event for families. Parents are very welcome to run with their children if they want to. open to everyone Please make sure you are registered with a Webscorer number and correct category before the event. Check your existing entry & category on the website and if new or not on the list, register there. Meet at the “Old Domain” picnic area. Please arrive by 2.00pm to avoid a rush. This last event is “Handicap start” with your start time based on Race 2 you’ll be told your start time by the “Handicapper” at race check-in. The aim is to finish 1st. Points awarded based on your finish place. This Saturday start is at multiple times, running the reverse of the course of race one. All ending together at the finish line on the beach.
